Trunk or Treat 2010

One of the kids favorite Halloween events.
They get to do some carnival games and then going from car to car collecting candy.
Tom and I used Jackson's Quest project for our costume. Tom almost did not fit in.

Jordan helping Logan get his loot.

Not sure why Jackson was laughing here.

Jordan helping with the games

Larson being Larson and having fun.

Happy 50th to my Sister

Larson giving aunt Char her presents that he made and was so excited to give to her for about 2 weeks.
It is always so busy when Char comes to town with Colby at school and all of our activities. We really did not get to do a family party for Char.
She is celebrating her 50th with Tommy and Colby on a 2 week South Pacific cruise.

Wish I was going!!!

Birthday dinner with Colby and Michael

Her birthday did include a football game.
This was Jacksons biggest cheering section yet.
This game was under the lights at the Viper stadium so that made it very fun.

Another South Carolina win!

Just adding in this last picture. This was suppose to be the boys last practice. Little did we know that we would be playing football for 2 more weeks.

The coaches and boys played a game of Universal football. Was great seeing them all have so much fun.

LIVESTRONG

Charlenes request for her birthday weekend: We participate in this run with her.

Congress bridge: Same start as the marathon but there is a 23 mile difference.

Totally fun running with Char and Colby. We lost Mr. Bell as soon as we crossed the start line. You cant expect a man with two hip replacements to be able to keep our pace.

Amazing that he can even do the run.

The best part was calling Mom and Dad during the run. Of course we haggled Mom about still being alive and how she used her 9 lives a long time ago.

Colby and I also sang a loud rendition of Happy Birthday to Char.

At the finish. Char did not like the run uphill on Congress.

Tommy has lost his Dad, Mom, and sister to cancer. It was amazing to see all the people running in memory of or in honor of loved ones with Cancer.

It wasnt easy to get through but we are so blessed to still have Mom and Dad with us. Jackson doesnt think he has any desire to be a doctor but almost weekly he brings up the topic of cancer and how close they are to having a cure.

End of Season for Larson's Flag Football

Poor little Larson's team lost every game of their regular season. However, there is a good ending to this story.

Everyone gets to play games in the playoff and try to reach the superbowl game.

Tom was out of town and I had a few things going on like: Jordan in Georgetown at all regional choir, Jackson at the High School for his football game, and Larson's playoffs. I was dropping kids and getting them to where they needed to be. I was literally running back and forth between fields to be able to catch glimpses of them playing.

I would just get to Larsons game and my phone would ring that Jackson just took a cheap shot from behind and was hurt. I would get in the car to get to Jackson and the phone would ring. The girls were celebrating Larson's 99 yard touchdown to win the game! I was always a step behind but I was only one person. I would have loved to seen Larsons run for the end zone. So the day continued, Larson won his first game so I had enough time to watch Jacksons defensive line hold the other team and they took home a win.
Larson's team won their second game so that was the "superbowl" title for them.
I had two happy boys.
Little celebration at Cups and Cones.
Then two very dirty and stinky boys in the car from football to Jordan's all regional choir performance. She got 5th chair alto this year!

He loves collecting his trophies!

The Pancake Award

Coaches always making it fun!
Jackson received the pancake award this week for taking an opponent flat to the ground pancake style.
I think he was more excited about making the pancakes and eating them. However, we highly recommend that no one make pancakes from a can - not so good!

Nature Museum with Logan

Spent the morning at the Nature Center with just Logan.

The weather was so nice and it was so relaxing and fun to be outside playing with Logan.

It was difficult to get Logan to leave. Who doesnt love a dino dig?

After the museum we met Dad downtown for lunch.

What a great way to spend a Friday.

Larson's Fall Festival

Tonight was a date for just Larson and Mommy. I love when the entire family is together but sometimes it is so sweet to just be one on one.
River Ridge did a great job with the festival and we really enjoyed our night together.
(Jackson is just a little too "old" for this and picked football over the festival)
I guess he is more ready for middle school than I think.

Vegas 2010

It had been 7 years since our last girls trip to Vegas but we are back.

and ready to relax

We stayed at Aria at City Center. This hotel was so cool. Very technology based. So glad that we stayed here.
First to the Mirage for a breakfast buffet

Then onto a day of shopping.
Vegas is one of my favorite places to shop. All of my favorites are there.

Time to relax at the pool. We tried the liquid lounge which is an outdoor pool bar but we decided it wasnt for us. Now I can say that I know what they are like.

An amazing show
"La Reve"

Lots of exercise just walking the strip and checking out hotels.

Dinner at El Toro right on the strip. A very fun night followed by a detour to the Palazos club, Lavo.
Yes, these are the clothes that we went clubing in: I had a cowboy outfit on, my sister a floor length Lilly Pulitzer dress and Caroline in a sweater.
So we were not planning on this stop at all.Another new thing that we had never experienced. Now I can say I was at a hip club where the stars all go. Whoo ooooh!!
Probably will never be there again in my life.

Food was a big part of the agenda each day. How fun is it just to eat great food whenever you feel like it and I didnt have to cut any of Char or Carolines food for them.

There is a story behind each of these pictures but as the saying goes, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
My husband says he doesnt even recognize me here. Jackson asked if I was drinking and of course I was not.
This is what I look like when I get 8 hours of sleep and have no one else to take care of.
View from our hotel. Ready to go to dinner and a show.

Caroline and I sporting our new Miss Me jeans

None of us had seen the Lion King so another first for us.

This trip was so incredible. I loved ever minute and was grateful for every minute. Sometimes you just need a break from the usual. Being with my sister and best friend is such a happy place for me. Cant wait until the next trip.

As my Dad says, "Dont be sad its over, be happy that it happened"

Then look what you get to come home to.
Life is pretty darn good!
