Marathon Mania

2-14-10 #6 26.2 4:25

Running Austin for the 3rd time. Getting to know the course very well and it does make it easier!
Congratulations to Chris on his first marathon.
Perfect day for a marathon. I had a good race and really enjoyed this one. Ran the whole thing by myself. Did not see one person that I knew other than Tom who was cheering me on from many mile markers.
I really had fun with this one.

My little marathoners.
(not that I'm pushing my sport on any of them)

Jackson and Larson participated in Marathon Kids at their school. Each Monday they would run 1 mile to have them add up to 26.

This was the final lap for marathon kids. Jackson chose to stay at his basketball game but Larson wanted to be here. I really liked the event and Larson just wanted it to be longer. He didnt get just running 1 lap. Maybe he will be a runner?

Kindergartners had to have parents run with them. Picture me with Logan on my hip.
Of course they got medals and water bottles at the end but come on, A MASSAGE???? Larson loves it all.

Valentines 2010

Guess which brother loves Valentines Day more than the other

LARSON!

This pretty much sums up my place in this family.
Roses are Red
Violets are blue
You give us dinner
I love you.

Jordan just thinks that it is a big rip off in middle school that you dont get to celebrate holidays with class parties.

I managed to go to both boys parties but that equated to 3 hours spent at school with a 2 year old.

I really wanted to get out of there but Jackson just had to wait for them to see who won the "guess the amount of M&M's in the jar"

It paid off as he was the winner.

Pretty shady valentines day for the kids this year. I just didnt have it in me this year.

I didnt even get a picture of all of them. I did manage heart shaped pancakes and they loved that.

Sock Hop

This picture about sums the evening up for Larson: Front and center, loving every moment!
Larson hanging with some Pink Ladies

Yes, this picture sums it up for Jackson. The only reason that he decided to come was they advertised games and pizza. Well, we didnt see one game and when we went to order pizza, it was all gone. He was really bummed and was begging me to get him out of there but I could not imagine making Larson leave so Jackson had to endure the torture of a sock hop.

Logan was entertained by a little disco ball.

He had been practicing his dance moves for weeks. It was very cute. Their gym teacher taught them some of the classic dances.

The only sad moment for Lars. When I asked what was wrong? He said he didnt have a girl to dance with. Oh my!
I have to admit that I was not excited about an elementary sock hop. I knew we had to go because Larson will not miss out on anything. So the party was much better than what I thought. The decorations were great and loved the 50's band. I could not believe how many girls had outfits and the parents too! I didnt even think of dressing 50's. For the dances that the kids had learned in school and would all be together doing the same thing- ADORABLE!!!!
So there I was with my 4th grader dying to go home and a 2 year old glued to my hip but for a very short time (he was crying to go home also).
Worth every stinking moment to watch Larson revel in the moments of dancing his brains out and jamming with the band. He melted my heart! So unbelievably cute!
Came home to tell Dad about it and then fell asleep in his leather jacket.

7th Grade Science Fair

Here's the good news: Jordan's project has made it to Regionals!
Here's the bad news: Jordan's project has made it to Regionals!
It's the science fair project that will never end. We are very proud of her and I will willingly do all the extra paperwork/time involved to have her be a part of the Regional Science Fair.
We stole this idea from the Kanes but other than the concept, Jordan's was done in a different way. Must be a great subject because they both moved on to Regionals!
The truth be known: Mrs. Kane and I would do anything to have a project not contain any living thing or animal and not have any messy parts. All she needed was paper and a stopwatch!
Good Luck at Regions Jordan.
