Welcome Katie!

Jordan is such a lucky girl to have her best friend from Florida come visit for 5 days! This was Katies first time flying by herself!!! It was a little crazy picking her up as I did not give enough time. I planned enough time for a "normal pick up" plus some more but really needed to be there like I was going on a flight. The good news is Katie was only there for about 10 minutes before we had her and she didn't seem nervous.
Jordan has their agenda made and ready to get started! Jordan's welcome sign
Katie and Jordan are 1 year apart with Jordan being the older one. Jordan is of course the smaller of the two but that is the case with all of her friends. (side note, Jordan just went for a check up and confirmed that she is a tiny girl being only 5% for weight and height. 60lb's and Jackson has now overtaken her in size)
The girls have known each other since they were born. They have never lived in the same place but have been on many vacations with each other and to each others houses
.

They had surprises for each other and picked right back up where they left off. They were together for a day in May in HHI.
Jordan is just so excited to show and do everything with Katie!
Shopping at the mall. Jordan has picked up this past time very quickly. Not so sure that Dad will approve the credit card??

Limited Too and Abercrombie seemed to be the hot spots. Yes, the girls bought matching shirts. They must still be into that! Very cute selections that they made.

I mentioned Jordan's Dr. visit earlier this week- she got 3 shots. I had told her that if she wanted to get one more "shot" she could get her ears pierced. This is something that she wanted to do but didn't have the courage yet. (Sorry, Grandma Pat, never liked the cant get your ears pierced until I was 16 rule- anyone want to take a guess as to when I got mine done??? I will just say that I didn't follow my Moms rule- cant remember if I got in trouble for that one or not??)
The before picture
Well, she did it!
A little nervous but so glad that she did it.
Katie was there cheering her on.

Jordan with earrings in!
She was so happy and cant wait to show her friends and Dad!
From Cub Scout camp to the mall- Boy do I have the best of both worlds!!!

After the mall, back to our house where the girls started the normal girl stuff, getting out games, they baked brownies for the boat tomorrow and finished the night watching the movie Aqua Marine on the zoom box. Notice the matching PJ"S! No, they did not make it to the end before they were both fast asleep. Caroline, they brushed their teeth well so know we are taking great care of her! She seems very comfortable and happy!
Katie, we are so glad that you are here!

Cub Scouts Camp

The world of having boys is fully upon me. Coming from a family of 4 girls, cub scouts has been a very new and exciting adventure for me. Jackson went straight from school to having his first week of day camp with the Cub Scouts.

The camp was about 30 minutes away at Emma Long Park on Lake Austin. They attended M-F from 8am to 4:00 with temps every day 100 plus! We carpooled with a couple other Cubs and the rides consisted of video games and Pokemon cards! It was a great way for Jackson to get to know Jacob and Daniel better.
I knew that on the first day when I picked up Jackson he was in for a great week. As he came walking up to me, I could hear him "clanging", Mom!, Mom! look what I found. His proudest moment of the day was showing me his weighted down pockets full of dirty, old, some newer, beer cap tops. Wow Jackson that is great! It gets better! MOM YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS IN MY BACKPACK POCKET! He proceeds to pull out a bunch of bones. Not sure what kind of bones, I just know that they did not come into my house!
This was a proud parenting moment! Came to pick up Jackson and do you notice the only kid with a bare chest?? Yes, that would be my son without a shirt on. Must be my North Carolina heritage coming out in him. I would send him straight to the shower each day after camp to try and peel off the layers of dirt!

This was the very first time that one of our kids has been to camp all week. We usually are in HHI for the entire summer. Kind of missed Jackson all week but he absolutely loved his camp even with the extreme temperatures every day.
This is us having a family picnic on the last day. (Jordan was cracking me up because she was such a girly girl out here- you know, the heat, the bugs, all the smelly boys- wasn't quite fitting in with her and her agenda to be at the mall a couple of hours later!) Logan was sleeping and of course, Larson has asked 100 hundred times this week- why cant I be a cub scout???? A few tears when he was not allowed to stay with big brother at camp. Tom got to be at the camp this day and volunteer for Jackson.
This was a great experience for Jackson. He earned many certifications and badges. Too many to list-- He loved the BB gun and archery the most! That just sounds so weird to me. Other activities that he talked about was the swimming each day, the nature hikes where they all really really heard the big long snakes under the brush but they didn't actually see them, but they were close by! Flag football and volleyball (?) were talked about. He loved the spiders nature guy- tarantulas and scorpions-- oh my! I thought the coolest thing was the picnic tables that the boys built to leave behind at the camp. They were so professionally done and looked great!
So a great first Cub Scout Camp experience! Looking forward to Jackson now having a little down time and trying to stay a little bit cleaner for the rest of the summer!

One Man Show

Larson is full of imagination and this week he has been the BAKER. He gets out the play kitchen and cash register. He takes your order, cooks it up, serves it to you, and then checks you out. When you are this cute, you get big tips!

Locks of Love

Jordan is participating in a Charity called, Locks of Love. This is where girls cut at least 10 inches off of their hair and donate to children that need wigs made. She has wanted to do this for some time now. We signed her up and this was the kick off party for the event that will happen in Dec. There are about 100 girls doing this amazing service. I am not thrilled for Jordan to have short hair but I would never stop her from doing such a good thing. She has way over 10 inches to donate right now but we will trim it before Dec. She may cut it in August before school begins. It just depends on how she feels then. It is soooo long and she wants it cut but if she waits until Dec. when most of the cuts will take place, it will be that much longer!
At this party, the girls got ice cream, made head bands, nails painted , and professional pictures taken of their long hair.

CFA- Level II studying DONE!

This past Saturday, Tom had the privilege of taking a 6 hour CFA exam. This is a level 2 of 3 that he had been studying for since January. About a total of 250 hours. This as we had a newborn and of course, his full time job. I was what you would call a "CFA widow" for the past 5 months. We are so proud of him for all that he put into this Exam. Results will not be until August so for now you say that you did your best and hope for the best. Until then, we will be enjoying our summer having Dad back in our presence.
Friday night Tom got home and we had posters hanging everywhere in the kitchen for Dad. I took the kids and went to the pool for the night so that Tom could have a quiet house to prepare for the mornings exam.
This personally, was my favorite poster. I wrote quotes that the kids had said during this long time of studying. Tom took this one into his office on Monday.

Master, Please Train Me!

All the Roberts kids have the same passion for their DS's and often you will find all 3 downloading games and playing each other. Aunt Char, it looks like a 4th DS will be needed soon!

Schools Out- Summers Here!

With graduation behind them, they had a great last 1/2 day at school signing yearbooks and field day. The girls were so excited to be officially done with school and were off to a nice lunch with Mrs. Gama. Unfortunately, I missed the 5th graders breaking the ribbon and running out of the school for the last time. The time that I was given was 11:00 bell but I think that the teachers could not wait to start their summer and started letting kids go at 10:00.

Oh well, Mrs. Gama was crying because she saw them run out of school and I was crying because I did not see them run out of school!

Jackson choose to ride the bus home from his last day. The bus driver gave them Root Beer to make a float??? Jackson was not stoked about that so he gave his to Larson who thought he was just given a million dollars by his reaction. I'm glad that Jackson didn't have a real nice shirt on as apparently the cool thing to do is have everyone sign your shirt the last day. It is hard to see but everyone signed it!

So now we are onto Summer Break! Lots of activities, swimming, and our trip to Hilton Head all awaits. I cant wait for all the fun but still I wonder how many times I will hear the words, "I'm bored, I'm hungry, and What are we doing next????

Let The Party Begin!

LWBE version of High School Musical 2

I was on the graduation committee and it was allot of work but what a great day these kids had.
This was a serious party. Live DJ, more food than they all could eat, games, and swimming! It was so great to see them all having so much fun. No clicks, no one getting left out. Everyone had smiles on their faces and no behavior issues at all.

Girls just want to have fun!

An advantage to being small: one of the last ones standing in the limbo!

What beautiful girls!
May your friendships stay strong.

Coming to an Art Gallery Soon

This is Jordan's creation. It is hard to make out by the picture. The face is made from a piece of nylon so the texture is really cool.

Jackson's self portrait colored with waxed crayons

I wish that you could really see the colors in this one. The watercolor is a little off in the photo. We were really impressed with this one. It is in Hawaii and there is a main house and a guest house. If the waves get too high then you have to move to the house above.

All 3 of the older kids are very talented when it comes to art and creativity. That is one thing that they all have in common.

Logan 4 Months Old

I Love to Eat and it Shows
Rolls upon rolls and so yummy- that would be our 4 month old Logan.
He continues to eat his way through life but he has realized there are other things too! Sometimes he loses his concentration now.
He loves to just laugh out loud and even if one of the kids looks at him he will start laughing. He has started the arch your back trick so maybe Mom wont put me in the car seat! Still falls asleep whenever and wherever he wants even if it for only 5 minutes. No sleep schedule but we will still keep him!

Exersaucer Time

Logan was not included in our economic stimulus check but he certainly got stimulated from the action of the exersaucer!
After school, Jordan and I put Logan in this to play. His eyes just kept getting bigger and bigger, then focusing on something for a long time and then he would just start laughing. A big success for his first try. This will only last about 3 more months and then he will be onto the next thing.

Jordan's Skate Party

Jordan has left her mark on the skating rink
Jordan and 12 friends enjoyed two hours of skating fun. It's kind of funny because Jordan is not the most advanced skater but that is what she chose to do with her friends. The DJ played great songs and they played lots of games out on the skate floor. As part of her invitation she gave each girl a pair of knee high socks to skate in.
Taking a break and enjoying some cookie cake.
Not quite sure how she pulls this off but after the family party and skate party she got to have a sleep over. This was with her closest friends: Taylor, Marianna, Gemma and we sure missed Alie who was out of town.
They did the usual: ate pizza, lots of chocolate, opened presents, did make overs and watched a movie. All was calm when I fell asleep at 10:30.
Jordan got so many nice presents from her friends.
So, it is official we have an 11 year old daughter and she is on party detox right now.

Jordan's Family Party

Jordan really loved all of her presents. I thought that they were perfect for her. She got a docking station for her ipod that is very cool, clothes, ear rings, a game to play with her girlfriends.

Jordan has never been one for cake so each year I just make a brownie cake with their age cut out.

Party Gone Wild

We seriously had so much fun last night celebrating Jordan's birthday. She wanted pizza so that was our dinner but at least she did not ask for some gourmet meal that I would have had to cook. Opening the presents was great. I think that she was really happy with her loot! Then the inner wildness came out in them. It got loud and out of control very quickly. It was just a moment in time where we were all together and no worries in the world. At the end of the night when the kids were in bed and the party cleaned up, Tom and I were smiling. This is what it is all about!
