Mansfield Dam is 2 miles from our house. This was our first time in 10 years visiting here.
Poor Logan just doesnt get much playground time being the 4th kid.
Jackson and I had just had a conversation this week about pay phones. He was asking what it was like to not have cell phones. Here is a fully operational pay phone. Jackson wanted to call someone but I didnt have quarters stashed in my car. Back then it was dimes.
The ground cover here is usually under water. We have been in a severe drought for years now. The lake just keeps getting smaller and smaller. It is 40 ft below level right now. Its average depth is 630ft.
My foot is under water here. The water is so clear.
So we drove our car around to the other side of the lake and you can actually drive your car right out to the waters edge since the water is so low.
I can not believe that we have not hung out here more.
You can see our neighborhood on the other side of the lake.
This action is 5 mins from our house and the road down to the lake is so beautiful.
The waters edge is a little murky but just out 20 yards it is really nice.
Lunch time up on top of the lake.
We had a friend joining us. He was so cute eating the cheeseball.
A perfect place to fly a kite. Lots of wind and no trees.
I think someone looks a lot like his Dad.
This was one of my favorite days this entire summer.
I just cant believe that we have never done this before.
It was just such an old school day.
Lake swimming, picnicking, kite flying, rock finding, just great fun.
Once we got back from the Lake, we did our annual dress like cows and eat Chick Fil A for free.
It is ridiculous but fun. We actually get our entire families dinner for free.
Then on the way home, we stopped to get free Slurpee's at 7-11.
