Back in Texas

Our intentions were to go to Hamilton Pools where there is a natural springs and waterfall. The wait to get in was about 2 hours so we headed back and saw another state park only 5 minutes away.

It was about 3 miles back in off the main road and this is what we found. It was a very very hot day and we were in flip flops and bathing suits. We would have been more equipped with hiking boots and rock climbing equipment.

When we first started down this little canyon, Larson yelled snake and he was right, then Tom helped each of us over this ledge. I was barefoot at this time as I was dripping wet with sweat and flip flops were not holding on very well.

It was a long hard hard hike at some points but the scenery was beautiful. In the caves, the temperature was allot less so this gave us a break.

People come here for rock climbing and I'm sure they were wondering what this little family was doing there.

We got back in the car and passed by this very cool village that was a set used only for the movie The Alamo. Wish we could have toured that.

We found our way down to the Perdnales River and got cooled off, had a good picnic lunch and headed back home.
Im not so much a river kind of girl compared to the ocean or pools but I really loved this day with our family just being together and being on an adventure that we had never done before.
Everything about this day reminded me that I was back in Texas.
