The Ford F-150 Monster Truck

Its a good thing that we have an extra garage to park this vehicle in. Larson has been cracking us up with his driving skills: has mastered reverse and forward and has a mean 3 point turn already. We are giving him a week and then we will release a pin that lets him have a faster setting.

This is how it goes so far: Backpack that has a sleeping bag, flashlight, and waterbottle (Pat Pat and Papa got that for him for Christmas, has slept in it every night) hat on backwards, and the radio on. Then he is ready for action!

Christmas Day 2007

This Christmas seemed to be so stress free and relaxed. Not much more that you could ask for. I had 3 good weeks from Thanksgiving on where I just felt so much better and was able to get Christmas all ready and then just enjoy it.

Julia and Uncle Chris came and spent Christmas Eve with us. We loved having them here! We didn't have such a tradition Christmas Eve dinner but it is one that we love- Muffalatas and homemade fries, followed by Toms homemade crepes, YUM!!!! Those are in honor of his Mom who learned to make crepes when living in Paris. That was a tradition that they had in their home growing up.
The kids were pretty wild at this point but somehow we managed to sing Christmas songs, get out the treats for Santa, read the story of Jesus and the Night Before Christmas.
To our surprise, the kids were all snug in bed before we knew it!

Santa certainly made it to the Roberts house; Jordan loving her first official Ipod, Jackson's hand, arm and neck are already feeling the exertion of playing Play Station hour upon hour, and Larson goes out about every 30 minutes cruising in his Monster Truck.

We loved having Tom home for 5 days with us. Just lots of play time and consuming tons of food and treats. Buddy received not just one Digital camera but two! Tom surprised me with my Canon that I have wanted for the last year and Uncle Chris thought it would still be nice to have a small pocket camera for occasions. I felt very spoiled. Eveyone knows how much I love our pictures.

5 Days and Counting!

Larson is Ready for Christmas

Almost 4 years old- What could be better than Santa coming?
Larson has been so much fun this Christmas season. He loves all the decorations and especially making crafts at school. He is very ready for Santa to come. He has asked for one thing and one thing only- Ford -150 Monster Truck and he will add in - the color black. We ask him if he wants other things and he has the same response- Monster Truck. One time he must have been hungry because he told me that he wants Santa to bring him some French Fries!

Jackson in Quest

QUEST
(Quality Utilization and Enrichment of Students Talents)
Jackson presents his Alien Trash to the Quest class and parents

The kids were given specific guidelines and then had to create their own recycled alien. Jackson's group came up with a pollution eating Alien. The head was made out of a peanut butter jar and you cant see here but the back of it was not painted so you could see the filtration system. Jackson came up with the idea where he put toilet paper rolls inside and it cleaned the polluted air and then clean air would come out the top. This is a very typical creation of Jackson!

Happy 50th Anniversary to Mom and Dad

Destin, Florida Nov. 17th-25th, 2007

Charlene brought us all here to celebrate our Mom and Dads 50th Anniversary. Their actual date is this Friday, December 14th!
We are so thankful to have been a part of this celebration. This was our first trip to Destin and we loved the location. The sand and water was just like we were in Mexico. It was such a fun and relaxing week as we spent time as a family. The weather was really good the first part of the week so we had lots of beach time. We were so glad that Grandma Boyd could be with us. You know its not so easy to travel at 89. We got her out to eat and even made it to a movie!
There were so many highlights of the trip but most of all was the time that was spent with everyone.
We love you Mom and Dad and hope for many more years to come.

Larsons First Dentist Trip

Boy are my teeth dirty!!!!!
(Dr. Freeze is really funny)

I was on the phone with a Dr. when they called Larson back. He just went without me and did not care at all. He would drive himself to school if he could reach the pedals.

Continued Halloween pictures 2007

My goal eventually, is to print off this blog and have it be a journal. This being the case, I have to include these pictures from the video so that they can be printed off.
This Halloween seemed to be more in control than last year. We did not have as many parties to go to and that made it easier. All 3 kids really love the Halloween season. Jordan had a pumpkin carving at school. Larson had a costume parade at school as well as a big fall festival. Tom took him to that and said that he was such a good boy and participated in all the activities. We all went to Jordan and Jacksons fall festival at school. One of their favorites is "Trunk or Treat" at our church. This is an huge event and the kids love going from car to car to collect the goods. We also attended our neighborhood party with a real haunted house. We did not stay long because all of the kids were asking to go home and get in bed. Trick or treat night was very warm and a great night for all of us. Larson wanted to go to the doors by himself, imagine that!

Tom and Buddy- The Bakers

Well, these were our costumes for this year. Pretty appropriate! Thanks to Jenny for letting us borrow them and keep the tradition going in Hunters Green. We wore these to our church festival and actually won a very cool prize. Jackson tried to turn one of the burners up higher and he told me that maybe it would cook faster for me. He is always looking out for his Mom!

Halloween Dinner

Uncle Chris and Julia came over last night for a Halloween dinner. The kids were excited to show them our spooky house. Tom spent the 15 minutes before lighting all of the candles. I have allot of candle drippings to clean up today. With the cooler weather in Austin, it really felt like a fall night.

Fiesta Texas, Six Flags

This was all in the name of love for our kids. They love the rides so much so we went for one last trip to Six Flags. The summers in Texas seem to go on and on. Last Saturday Jackson had a football game and then we headed for San Antonio.
Larson is taking after his Mommy and has decided that the teacups make him sick. That is what happens when your older siblings spin the cup so fast.
Can you imagine Jordan driving Jackson around in 5 more years? Hopefully she will driving a more updated car than this one.

Halloween Has Hit the Roberts House

October 1st and the kids want the Halloween crates out!
I think that we got to it a couple days later. Jordan asked who kidnapped her mother and what did they do with her when I added spooky cobwebs to the entire staircase. This was a new added attraction this year. The picture does not show it but at night time the staircase looks very haunted.
As for Larson, he thinks every night so far is a trick or treat night. He has worn the Scooby costume many days already. He actually wore it on our morning walk with the stroller. Yes, Scooby is a hand me down from Jackson. We are trying to convince him that it is really really cool. He saw a Star Wars costume and always says, "no, I wear Star Wars". Stayed tuned for October 31st to see who wins the costume battle.

Too Tired to Eat

"No chicky, too tired"
Larson doesnt participate in nap time anymore. Sometimes it is a long day until bedtime. He didnt quite make it through his dinner. The next morning he woke up and the first thing he said, "I'm big hungy".

5 months pregnant

23 weeks down, 15 to go!
I really dislike prego pictures but I know so many of you do not see me in this state. Monday -Saturday is usually a scary sight of myself. You will quite often find me in the same clothes and unshowered. Sunday after church would be the only chance of a picture.
I have taken on many new nicknames:
Prego came from Aunt Char
Tommy calls me Chubby
Uncle Chris just makes whale noises around me
Jordan just comes right out and says that I am fat.
Larson says mommy is BIG, BIG.
Thank goodness for Jackson, he said I was beautiful.
Tom must not mind any of the above- he just keeps telling me to eat.

He Scores!

Jackson's First Touchdown
Jackson had a great game today. He took a hand off, ran right , was trapped, cut back to the left and ran it in for 6 points. I thought the highlight was his touchdown but I think he had just as much fun pulling flags.

Goodbye to Good Friends

So glad that you came to Texas, so sad to see you go.
We loved getting to know the Rahm family. Best of luck in San Diego.
You will be missed!

Jackson and Mickey

These two hit it off right from the start. They got along so well. Jackson was always so excited to show him his latest video game and Mickey was just as excited to play them.

Saying goodbye was like any typical pair of 7 year olds. I think Mickey may have said, "Do we have to hug again?"

Then when left alone to go to bed we could hear the tears flowing. Mike at least he waited until he was in private to cry.

BOY OR GIRL??????

I think that I need to clarify the sex of this baby for all of you. No, we do not know if it is a girl or boy. Everyone will know the same day that we do when we deliver in January.

Making Cookies

Family Home
Evening Fun
and a big mess for Mom

We had a family move in just down the street from us. The kids love to make cookies and welcome any prospective new friends.

Roberts Baby #4

Charlene and I went on Friday to see a sonogram. All looks well! Charlene was looking and still could not tell boy or girl. The kids all think it is a girl. Jackson's reasoning is that we already have 2 boys and only one girl. It has to be a girl to make it even. BOY, could they be in for a shock!

Aunt Char Arrives in Austin

Going to church.
We keep telling Larson that he only has 5 more
months of being Aunt Char Char's favorite. I don't think that he believes us.

The adults enjoyed a dinner out at Kona Grill. Tommy was
celebrating the Gamecocks win over Georgia.
Out on Lake Austin
On Friday night, Uncle Chris took us all out on his boat. The kids had a great time tubing and swimming. We had dinner at a local dive on the water, serving the best cheeseburgers. Then we enjoyed a boat ride back to Chris' house under the moonlight.

First day back to school

It was still dark out when the kids headed off to school!
Jordan was so excited that she was dressed and ready at 6am.
She could not wait to see all of her friends. Quite the social bug.

Jackson's comments to his teacher when he met her.
"I'm in pace math, I'm in Quest, and I am the perfect student to have"
(We will see how perfect he is when his discipline sheets come home)

Larson wore his backpack around the house
the last two weeks in anticipation of this day.
