Logans' 2nd Birthday

January 25th
Our little ones have always just had a little family party. We were so happy that Uncle Chris and Colby could join us. He really did not even know it was his birthday.

I went to get a few party decorations and I let him pick it out. Mickeys Playhouse Disney was the theme. I thought he did a good job deciding. Of course, I kept him away from Dora the Explorer because I'm pretty sure he would have picked the girl with pink and orange colors.

We seriously did not get him much as far as presents go. The typical playdough, a book (which was his favorite- it is Mickey and has the sound buttons on the side) A DVD and some rocket balloons. We just had Christmas and that was a far reach trying to come up with gift ideas for a 2 yr old with 3 older siblings.

I was really surprised when Logan pretty much told me, hey lady no pictures tonight. I do not know what he was doing but every time that I tried to take a pic he would start screaming and put his head down or his new pose of hands on the cheeks.

Cake was his favorite part of the day from the time we picked it up at the store. He even tired to blow out the candles.
So Logan is two and the terrible two's started a little early. Hopefully he will get some more words soon and not be as frustrated.
He loves his books and playing outside the most.
He gets very excited when the kids come home from school. He certainly does not understand age at the moment but I'm afraid that we have another Larson, Logan doesn't want to be left out of anything. Kind of hard to go to school when you're only 2.
Logan keeps us all on our toes but one things for sure: We all love him and so thankful he is part of our family.
Happy Birthday Logan!

Meet New Elephant

There was no way to replace elephant with the original so he had to pick a new one.
He doesnt have a name either: Just Elephant Logan does not like the tusk on this one so he doesnt suck on them and thats not all bad. This one is much bigger so I have the joy of carrying an ever growing boy and his new much larger elephant. This new elephant also has taken on a new role for Logan. I dont think he uses it so much for comfort as he does as a friend. He is very rough with him and loves us to chase him with it. He also uses it as a pillow in his crib.

Showing Some Sisterly Love

So a while back I was just cleaning in Jordan's room and found this little document under her bed. It was rolled up in scroll form and I took a look.

This is what it said:

Contract

We the people of Jordans room will in effort to maintain this contract to justify justice and tranquility. In the following we conclude that Jordan roberts does not get fair and just rules. Including privacy. Since I have no lock on my door this has to be taken to serious measures. no one except for the following on the VIP list can enter the drama queen's quarters in the west wing. Including my busy schedule and rehearsals for plays no one can enter to do pranks (remember the T-P ing of my room and the fake snake set by Jackson?). So something must be done! As my apprentice Larson does not apply to these rules unless stated by I, Jordan Roberts. I also have valuables that could be misplaced by a certain someone. Anyone who signs this contract is imprinted and established to follow these rules. No exceptions what so ever or they will be directed to certain judgements like saying hello to 20 yeras in the dugeon. this is dependent on the crime committed. I'm almost 12 and deserve to not have brothers and their friends barge into my room holding lightsavers attacking things and sometimes those things is me! These rules apply when I am out of the room, floor, buildng, and if I am lucky enough out of the state. For any questions please contact me, Jordan Roberts. For debates you can meet me in the court room on the 3rd floor. You can visit me in my office during the hours of 10:00-8:30. Thank you. This will honor my rights!
Then at the bottom: There it was: Jackson's signature
That's Ok Jackson: This document is saved and you can pull it out at a certain girls wedding reception.

Cant Wait to See What Larson is When He Grows Up

Shaves in the morning and a new shadow by night time
Over Christmas the family was waiting in the lobby of the Hyatt to go on a boat. I look over and there is Larson hanging out at the bar.

I also saw him go up 12 stories in a glass indoor elevator just waving away at me. This did not surprise me as he has done this one many times visiting Aunt Char when she stays at this hotel.

So with a personality like Larson's I just cant wait to see what he is going to be!

So They Lost but....

Since living here the last 5 years we have been able to celebrate 2 National Championship games with Texas. This years took a completely different path than the first one. I dont know of another type of event other than a good football game that you can experience so many feelings! There were sad moments, such highs and some very very lows. Obviously felt so bad for Colt and his family, being taken out of his last UT game after a couple of plays. Felt even worse for the poor 18 year old quarterback that had to put his helmet on and go play in the biggest spot light of football with very little playing experience. Certainly, will be something that he will never ever forget. I am here to say that yes, Alabama won the national championship but against an 18 yr.old inexperienced quarterback. Alabama would not be the champions if Colt McCoy had of been back in the game!
Here is Garrett Gilbert at Jacksons flag football game this past fall. So excited for him and the Texas Longhorns next year!

New Years 2010

After a wonderful Christmas season and being with so many family members and friends it was some alone time for our little family. It seems like our annual tradition is spending New Years in San Antonio.
Since being Baby Wilbur in her school musical, Jordan has an affection for pigs. She got a stuff pig for Christmas that is adorable and she named it Bacon.

This was the day that Larson decided he was not riding little rides anymore. He was super brave as we heard many times that weekend. So he was off with the big guys and that just left Logan and Mommy to ride some little rides.
Seriously, Larson is 5 years old and he is far beyond those few years but when we took him on Tony Hawk for the first time he just was not sure. He wasnt going to give into his nerves, he was doing it. This is a ride were 2 people sit facing the other 2. Jackson and Jordan were facing Larson and myself. One moment Larson would be saying, "WHEEEEE" the next he would be screaming and almost in tears and it continued that way for the entire ride. The 3 of us were laughing so hard. The poor little guy. When we got off Jackson and Jordan couldnt even talk they were laughing so hard. I gave them the evil eye and told Larson that Jordan just told a joke. Larson got off, gave high fives and was ready to go again of course after saying, "I was so brave". I would have loved to have had a video of Larson on Tony Hawks Big Spin for the first time.

This was so awesome. Logan loved going down the hill with his daddy. This is my kind of sledding. 75 degrees and sunny!

I am sure that we will do this again next year! The park was so beautiful with all the Christmas lights and our family loves this kind of entertainment.
It did turn very cold once the sun went down and we said good bye to Logans beloved Elephant. He must of thrown it out of the stroller and we never recovered it. He was a good elephant and is missed.
We didnt make it until midnight- just too cold and tired. Logan and I saw the midnight fireworks from the hotel window.
Happy 2010 to everyone!

The Last 4 Fun Days

Bob Bullock Museum
Jake and Jackson got to go hunting with their Uncles
It was very cold and not too many animals but they had a good time.
Larson was too small to go and was very sad but Uncle Chris bought him a hunting jacket like Jacksons and he has worn it 24/7 since!
I look at my 2 older boys wearing their camo and I just think, oh my I have two little Texas hunters.

We managed to get some bags together for the homeless.

A very cold day at Zilker Park but they kids did not seem to mind as they got tons of energy out of them.
Even the gingerbread houses are big in Texas
The State Capital, UT Tower, and they Hyatt
Uncle Chris arranged for a dinner cruise on Lake Austin. The food was good and we had the entire boat to ourselves so the kids could mess around and have fun. We did not spend much time up top as it was very very cold!

Lakeway Inn

This was the only semi warm day that we had. Certainly warm enough for the hot tub!
Fred has always stunted with the kids since they were old enough to stand. He doesnt do Jake anymore. I wonder why?

Jackson, Grampy, and Larson

Doug getting ready to head to the airport with Becca

Roberts Boys!
Fred may be skinny but he is the toughest one out of them all. He is an ultra marathon runner, doing 100 miles at a time. The day before he runs a marathon and considers that his warm up.

Crash Test Dummies

This makes me laugh every time!

Happy 80th Birthday

Happy Birthday to Mom & Dad/ Grampy & Nana

So both Nana and Grampy are turning 80. Thats the main reason for the family reunion this Christmas.
We got a private room at the Oasis with a deck overlooking the lake. We got there just in time for sunset and some family photos.

Mom, Dad, and all 6 kids Nana, Grampy, and 9 of the 12 grandkids. Kerry, the oldest, just had a baby girl making Grampy and Nana great grandparents for the first time. Kerry lives in London and her two sisters were there visiting their new niece. We missed the 3 girls.

Jordan didnt get the memo to wear gray.
Fred and his family; Elizabeth, Jake, Makena, and Brewer

Doug and his girlfriend Becca

I guess getting a private room means better food at the Oasis. I am not a huge fan of their food but this night was very special and the food was really good.
Doug presented a wonderful slide show for everyone and Fred had a great speech to share. 80 Years and More to Come!

The party continued back at our house with singing our hearts our for Nana and Grampy. Cake and ice cream included!
Our house was filled with so many family members all talking and having fun. Grampy was almost glowing he was so proud of this group. What a wonderful evening and memories forever!

The night could have stopped there but oh no. This is what happens when you have lots of big men in the house. Cousin Pierce and Uncle Chris were going to see who was stronger. The kids were the weights. The volume in the house consistently keeps getting louder as the night progresses.

The night could have stopped there but oh no! We need to up the excitement and noise level some more so lets start throwing kids through the air. So here go the kids being tossed from Uncle to Cousins and then to mix it up a little they started throwing criss cross over and under. I wish this was on video to see but I probably was just trying to take it all in.
So the night did end with this but we still had 4 more days of fun to be together!
Happy Birthday Grampy and Nana!
We love you!

More of Christmas Day

Makena and Uncle Tom

The Christmas dinner was more like a Christmas Feast

Uncle Fred made sure all the kids were well schooled in the game of Poker. It quickly became a crowd favorite.

Larson the Magician.
Larson just recently got into magic after bringing home a library book. He got a kit from Jordan as an early present and had been practicing for this moment all week. After dinner he had everyones attention and was able to perform his show. Most people think Larson is pretty cute but as his Mom, he melted my heart. He could not have been more adorable performing. His first few tricks were pretty good and then it went on from there but it was one of the best shows playing in Austin that night.
A sneak peak below but this was well into the show and the tricks were getting a little sketchy at this point.
Larson may you never lose your magic!
