Do Snakes say I do?

Sitting at the kitchen table working on computer. Larson and Jackson are watching a show on Animal Planet about snakes. Their conversation:

Jackson: Lars look at all those snakes and all the boys are fighting for the one girl snake.
Larson: Why are they doing that?
Jackson: They are trying to mate.
Larson: What is mate?
Jackson: They find a girlfriend and get married.
Larson: Snakes get married?
Jackson: well yes.
Larson: MOM DO SNAKES GET MAAARRRRIED??

Wanted

Larson on his way to school. So happy to be in his cowboy attire.
Larson was wanted for: Playing pranks on sister, making things disappear, and for being just too darn cute.
Not only was it Kindergarten rodeo but picnic lunches for the entire school. Logan and I spent the day until 1:00 at school. We had a great time eating with Jackson.

The kids had so many activities. Very well planned out and so cute. Larson of course loved it all. In the afternoon, each class had a chili cookoff! The kids actually made it in the classroom.

Look What I Get to Wake Up To

I use to be the Mom whose preference in clothing did not have any kind of pictures or definitely not costumes for clothes but look at me now. I actually did not buy this, it was a gift but I totally think that he is cute in these PJ's. He was running around the house the night we put them on him. The kids were all googling over him and saying how cute he is. Then of course, Larson had to say, "What about me?" Yes, Larson you are cute too.
I loved when he came down the stairs the next morning with that sleepy look and bed head.

Jackson Turns 10

It's amazing to us that our boy is 10. This last year has brought so many changes for Jackson. All good! First of all he is gaining on my size. He stands to my nose. Wears a half size bigger shoe, and gaining on my weight. That is so weird to me to think of our little Jackson being as big as me. He has grown so much and maturity is setting in.
He truly has been a great big brother to the other boys and Jackson and Jordan have always been close.
He is still our compassionate one and Logan is so in love with Jackson.
He has found the book bug. He loved reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Loved the movie!
Works hard at school.
Loves basketball
Leggo builder genius
Video game player
Has moved onto Webeloes in cub scouts
LOVES watching Man VS Food with his Dad
Admitted that he was just not that great at baseball and really wanted to try a different path. So this is the first spring season without baseball for Jax since he was 5 years old. We are proud of his maturity and decision that he made on his own.
Jackson shows us glimpses of the man he will be almost everyday.
We love you very much Jackson!

THIS IS IT, our family birthday photo. This cracks me up. It looks like a family that lives in the deep deep outback of Texas. I dont know what to say other than we were at Main Event at the little western shooting gallery. (Notice, Mom does not have a gun in her hand nor am I pretending to have one)

As I walk through the grocery store and wonder why why why does my 2 year old hold up his hands like a gun and shoot the sweet ladies walking by?

After seeing these family pictures I need to stop being so surprised and asking the question of WHY!!!!!

We offered a big party with friends for Jakson but he insisted that he only wanted a family party and (an I-touch). We ended up at Main Event and let them go wild. We all had so much fun. Too much fun: didnt get home until 9:45 on a school night. What kind of parents are we? Jackson quickly opened his presents and off to bed. We didnt even sing or give him his cake.
He went to sleep saying this was the best day and that he loved me!

Happy 10th B-day Jackson!

Regional Science Fair

Not a great picture at all but at least her award is documented. Who knew that a Regional Science Fair would go on for 3 hours. Certainly not Logan or myself. This was late into the night on a school night and Logan was flipping out. I was shocked when I heard Jordan's name and I had to run with all our stuff and Logan seriously flipping out of my arms. I was able to get up there but had a hard time managing the camera.

This was quite the ordeal. I had no idea how big and festive this event would be. ITS A SCIENCE FAIR! NERDS OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZES INVITED. The morning of, Jordan said, "I didnt even want to be in this" After all the work that had been put into this, I had my devil horns pop out. Now is not the time to tell me this!!
Her entire attitude changed from the moment that they arrived. She has to trust me on things like this. Its not about hanging with the nerds, its all about college applications.

As they were calling out all the winners, the names were all such as Afuma Binda, Choy sau Moo, Ephinus Madauwa. To hear JORDAN ROBERTS was a shock. They called out the top 5 in each category and got them to the stage. Then started with 5th place on down to the top winner. Jordan was 5th but that was out of 175 in her category. Only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd went onto state. She was really happy with what she accomplished. The funny thing is that some of these projects were so complex (like as in inventing electricity if it hadn't already been invented), Jordan's was just a simple project and did not go very deep with her topic.

How to turn something nerdy into something more exciting.

Jackson's Basketball Season

Jackson's basketball team had an undefeated team this season.
I dont have any pictures because I just gave up on trying to use my camera in the gym under the fluorescent lights. I know that I can learn that just dont have that on the list right now.

Jackson really improved his game this season. Having a basketball hoop in your driveway helps. He is out there shooting all the time. I really loved watching Jackson play and he had a great attitude on and off the court.
Too bad that basketball season is so short. He was already having spring football practice on the day he got his basketball trophy.

Larson and Dr. Suess

I am one that did not ever want one of my babies born on a special holiday like Christmas or Valentines Day. I just think that it is a rip off that you celebrate both days together instead of your b-day just being your special day. Not until Kindergarten did I realize that Larson was born on the same day as Dr. Seuss and in kindergarten this is a big deal.

Bringing in a special birthday treat isn't so special when they had treats all through the day and Larson was very concerned as to how he would wear his crazy hat and still have his birthday crown on.

Well, he figured it out and the kids just got extra extra sugar that day in class.

He loved Dr. Seuss day and his birthday!

Larson's 6th Birthday

We have had quite a few Spongebob parties in our family

But this was the first time that Spongebob actually came to the party.

Larson really did want a party at a venue that would cost a ton of money and be able to invite his entire kindergarten class. After his big blowout last year and the thoughts of having 20 kids bringing birthday gifts, I was able to guide him towards a nice family party. He chose Spongebob and almost everything was Spongebob related. I really like Spongebob, he only sees the good in life and everybody, kind of like Larson.
Larson was very surprised to see a new real drum set for his birthday.

Larson had family

Larson can get obsessed with things and lately it has been his Dad's ID badge for work. Larson wants one of his own. So these are the pictures for our very own Spongebob ID cards.

I'm a little worried about Larson's pose. If anyone knows that this is a gang related sign please let us know.

Larson had cake

I told him that we would have a great party for him!
Larson had lots of presents

Larson had games

Larson had a pinata filled with lots of fun things

Larson had a great party!

I know that he was so happy and I am glad that we celebrated the way that we did.

Jacksons birthday is only 6 days later so Aunt Char got him an early present! I dont know what to say, she spoils them.

Austin's Blizzard

This is a big deal around this part of the country.

The golf course was almost covered. The middle school kids were out with their beach skim boards trying to sled. It was fun to watch. Alot of the kids were in these fluorescent orange jumpsuits. I guess they were their dads hunting clothes. Very funny.
Logans first snow fall. He looks pretty happy here but I dont think that he actually liked it very much. It would have helped for all of them if we had some snow gear to be out in it. Jordans school got let out early and she went to a friends house. She was wearing capri pants, converse, and a thin hoodie. I'm sure she was real warm out there.

Doesnt make any sense to me at all but the middle school got out at noon but the elementary school went all day. The boys got to go out at school and play but they came home with completely wet pants, socks and shoes. They sat in the class room like that for more than half of the day.

The boys ran home just long enough to set their stuff down and out they went......then in they came........then out they went.....then in they came.......changing into dry clothes.......back out again...... in they came. By 5:30 I was left with completely muddy floors and wet clothes everywhere. OK the fun was over for me and I remember why I dont like cold weather but was so happy for the kids. The reality of snow in Austin again.... Jordan will probably be in college before it happens again.

I dont think that I have ever seen snowflakes as big as the ones that were coming down for a while.

Even the cat sat at the window trying to catch the flakes as they were coming down. I think that it really stressed her out.
The kids even got to go to school the next day two hours late. Crazy.
P.S. OK, so Im making fun of the kids in the bright orange hunting clothes---- Just realized my boys were in their hunting jackets.
