O Canada

Logan and Great Grandma Boyd

Why would you fly into Toronto when you can get a footlong hotdog from Teds in Buffalo. This is a family tradition for us. One of the best presents you can bring a Foss girl back home is a package of Teds Hot Dogs. We stopped there on the way and coming home and of course had our coolers packed for the dogs to go.

A quick stop at the water fountain as Larson calls it. Others call it a great wonder of the world or Niagara Falls. They were decorated for Christmas with all the lights and it was so beautiful. Then we continued to drive around Canada for the next 6 hours lost in the night. We eventually made it with a little side trip to Toronto.

Boydie was so happy with the kids around! It will take her days to recover.

We kept telling Larson that she was 100 because that sounded better to him than just 90.
90 or not she still looks good!
So glad that we could be with you!

Crystal was one of Larsons constant companions. She taught him all kinds of fun things. The moose ears and saying "Go Canada" was seen and heard a few times on this trip.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

How perfect! A trip to Canada without snow would have been disappointing. This was Larsons first snow. It was night time and started to come down and everyone was a good sport to get dressed and go play in the snow. Of course our cousins had t-shirts on with a little jacket. They were laughing at us: coats, boots, gloves, hats, scarfs. Larson got to take a few sled rides, a great snowball fight with Mr. Bell and a pitiful snowman but never the less, a snowman! Larson was having so much fun right up until the point where he noticed his hands were stinging and frozen. We made a quick escape to the fire place.

Grandma kept worrying me trying to pick up Logan. I was so glad that they were together.

St. Thomas, Ontario- Jumbo the Elephant. Every town has a claim to fame and this is a sad story and people were laughing at us but I had to take Larson to see the elephant. When the circus came to town the original Jumbo saved her baby by pushing it off of the train tracks but Jumbo could not be saved. This was the actual size of Jumbo. We had a stellar wind path blowing right on us at this point but we had to get the picture. We asked Larson how he liked this cold weather and he said "IT IS HORRIBLE".

Here was some of the gang just hanging out at Aunt Carolines.
Grandma Boyd with some of her granddaughters. No grandsons.
Grandma Boyd with great grandkids
All girls- Kathe and Jackie are missing (well, there not missing, we know where they are, just not with us)

"The Fountain"

Very cold but BEAUTIFUL!
Buddy's Place of birth
Did you know that about me?
The house my Dad grew up in and Grandma Foss lived in until she passed away.
Just 2 doors down from the house that I was brought home from the hospital to.

The house use to be white. The basketball goal that Dad made for Char is still hanging off of the garage.
Thank you Charlene for such a great trip to see Boydie. We had so much fun and just loved being with everyone!

Larson

We are so thankful for our Larson.
Tom and I think about what each kid will be like as they grow up. So far, we have 3 different personalities. We have to remember that Larson is only 4 because he fits right in with the older two.
It was 80 outside but dressed Larson in a turtle neck and pants for his school picture. He was hot but I told him it was all about the looks and not comfort. I was glad they did not wear their school shirts for the pictures.
I had a conference with his teacher and all was good there. She said that they usually do not give marks in the always column because they don't expect 4 year olds to always do something on task. To no surprise, Larsons were almost all in the always column. He is the leader for his class.
We love Larson and his own personality.

Logan 9 Months

9 Months old

He is still healing from the Chicken Pox but so happy that his face is getting better!

Well, finally at 9 months the kid has decided that he should move onto bigger and better things in life than just being on his back. He did it all within 2 days:
He started off with getting 4 more teeth and 2 on the way.
Finally sitting
Crawling and totally mobile in the house now.
even pulling up on everything
(then falling and hitting his head and crying)
Boy, has my life just gotten allot busier. Logan is just like Jordan -everything goes straight to the mouth. How many times can you sweep and vacuum in a day?
The name of the game is "Do you know where all your children are and have you fed them? If I answer yes, to both of those questions, then I have to say it has been a successful day.

Golf Course Etiquette?

One benefit of living on a golf course- you never have to buy balls to play with when you have an Uncle and kids to go collect them.
Uncle Chris chucking the balls from an out of bounds area and the kids trying to catch them in their bags. Cheap entertainment! Uncle Chris had better watch out for snakes!

Football Seasons Come to an End

Thanks to Tom/Dad for his 4th year of coaching. I know that the kids love your involvement. You have the right mixture when it comes to fun and learning the game.
Only one playoff game for our boys but that did not get their spirits down. Trophies and a party afterwards had them all smiling.

Coach Dad making Jordan earn her keep on the chain gang.
Of course, wouldn't you know it, she loved it!

4 playoff games and then we could finally say the season came to an end. Jordan ended up having fun and pulling lots of flags. She wants to play next time but she has some decisions to make. We have learned you cant do it all and have Mom keep her sanity.

Jordan was pretty excited about the trophy, right up to the point where she saw that it was a boy on the trophy. She did not care too much for that. Good news Jordan, you get to sleep in next Saturday with no football game!!!!!

Halloween 2008

Off to go Trick or Treating! Logan will have to stay back for his first Halloween. It's not like he was going to get any candy anyway and he made the night slower for Tom passing out candy. People that knew we had the Pox stayed away!

A spotted Dalmatian and I don't mean the costume. I will try and redo his pictures in a few more weeks when his face clears up. Actually, the camera is not picking up many of the dots so that is good! I may not be able to do it because his legs were too long for it now. He is our longest kid so far. All 4 of the kids wore this costume that Grandma Pat Pat made. I will try and find all of them in this costume and post that later.

Larson had a fun festival at school on Friday and loved all the candy that he got!

We didn't get our pumpkin until Halloween Day but it was the most perfect pumpkin that we have ever gotten. It was big, perfect shape to carve, bright bright orange and no marks on it!

Jackson's 2rd Grade Play

All That Jazz!
Jackson had been pretty excited about music class over the last few weeks and how much fun some of the songs were. I just thought, great, but also weird that Jackson would be so into it.
After seeing the play, I could see why. This one was just well written for 3rd graders. The music was upbeat and the little choreography seemed to fit all the kids. The best part it was only 20 minutes long!!!
It was only Larson and Mom that got to come. Jordan was at the high school with play practice and Dad had to stay home with Chicken Pox Boy!
Jackson you did a great job!
