O Canada

Logan and Great Grandma Boyd

Why would you fly into Toronto when you can get a footlong hotdog from Teds in Buffalo. This is a family tradition for us. One of the best presents you can bring a Foss girl back home is a package of Teds Hot Dogs. We stopped there on the way and coming home and of course had our coolers packed for the dogs to go.

A quick stop at the water fountain as Larson calls it. Others call it a great wonder of the world or Niagara Falls. They were decorated for Christmas with all the lights and it was so beautiful. Then we continued to drive around Canada for the next 6 hours lost in the night. We eventually made it with a little side trip to Toronto.

Boydie was so happy with the kids around! It will take her days to recover.

We kept telling Larson that she was 100 because that sounded better to him than just 90.
90 or not she still looks good!
So glad that we could be with you!

Crystal was one of Larsons constant companions. She taught him all kinds of fun things. The moose ears and saying "Go Canada" was seen and heard a few times on this trip.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

How perfect! A trip to Canada without snow would have been disappointing. This was Larsons first snow. It was night time and started to come down and everyone was a good sport to get dressed and go play in the snow. Of course our cousins had t-shirts on with a little jacket. They were laughing at us: coats, boots, gloves, hats, scarfs. Larson got to take a few sled rides, a great snowball fight with Mr. Bell and a pitiful snowman but never the less, a snowman! Larson was having so much fun right up until the point where he noticed his hands were stinging and frozen. We made a quick escape to the fire place.

Grandma kept worrying me trying to pick up Logan. I was so glad that they were together.

St. Thomas, Ontario- Jumbo the Elephant. Every town has a claim to fame and this is a sad story and people were laughing at us but I had to take Larson to see the elephant. When the circus came to town the original Jumbo saved her baby by pushing it off of the train tracks but Jumbo could not be saved. This was the actual size of Jumbo. We had a stellar wind path blowing right on us at this point but we had to get the picture. We asked Larson how he liked this cold weather and he said "IT IS HORRIBLE".

Here was some of the gang just hanging out at Aunt Carolines.
Grandma Boyd with some of her granddaughters. No grandsons.
Grandma Boyd with great grandkids
All girls- Kathe and Jackie are missing (well, there not missing, we know where they are, just not with us)

"The Fountain"

Very cold but BEAUTIFUL!
Buddy's Place of birth
Did you know that about me?
The house my Dad grew up in and Grandma Foss lived in until she passed away.
Just 2 doors down from the house that I was brought home from the hospital to.

The house use to be white. The basketball goal that Dad made for Char is still hanging off of the garage.
Thank you Charlene for such a great trip to see Boydie. We had so much fun and just loved being with everyone!

Did I know you were born in New York? Nope. I learned something new. Looks like everyone had fun gathering together. Nice fountain.
