Lone Star Spring Soccer

Larson, our soccer player.
Already seems like a long time ago that he played for our neighborhood sports.

Larson got into playing keeper for our team.  The way it happens is someone can volunteer or the players have to keep taking turns until someone takes the role.
Larson is just so nice that he sees no one else taking it and feels that he needs to try it out.
He found out that he is pretty good.
And thats how you get stuck in the goal.

He likes playing keeper but that can also get boring if your not having to defend your goal.  The big problem is that it takes you off of the field and you lose all those touches with the ball to become a better player.

We could hear Larson scream every game:   GET IT OOOOUT!!!! in a really high pitched voice.
That is part of his job to talk to the field players but it would crack us up all the time.

We can tell that Larson is starting to grow a little bit.
Total focus on the field.
(Larson has total focus in his entire life)

He came so far with his skills this year.   I loved watching all his games.

Soccer is a very physical sport with no pads other than shin guards.  When you collide and fall it hurts sometimes.

Larson and Diego.  Diego is an amazing soccer player and great friend of Larson's/
This was a mudfest game they played in!

Larson just had try outs for his first Lone Star Select team.  He made the Super II 04 Boys Blue North A team.  He starts with the team the beginning of August.  Until then it will be training sessions, camps, and Larson tearing up our Cedar wood garage door with his soccer ball.  (oh, he also took out one of the outdoor garage lights this week.)
