Hilton Head Island Day 1

This is the moment that we all wait for. We start thinking about this moment long before school is out. As we kick through the crazy month of May with all of our activities and end of school events, we think of this moment when we arrive on Hilton Head for our summer vacation. To get to this point is not so easy though. One of the worst skills that I possess is packing us for a long trip. Actually packing for any type of trip is not my stronghold.
As always, Im able to accomplish it and make it into the car. We pulled out at 1:00 in the afternoon and pulled into my sisters driveway at 11:00 the next morning. There is no other way that I would want to do this trip.
Aunt Char, Petra, and Giselle were waiting for us.
Aunt Mary, Grampy, Uncle Chris, and Pierce arrived soon after us.
Larson was very quick to get his tattoo on with his cousin. Its all temporary so its all good.

We were off to the beach. Grampy has a great beach house for us to stay at for the week. It is the 3rd house back from the ocean so it takes 30 secs to walk to beach. We have our own pool and room for everyone. It is so great to not have to pack for the entire day at the beach. We just go back and forth for whatever we may need!

hitting the water came first

quickly followed by some sand fun

Aunt Sally comes to greet her brother.
Uncle Chris is still on a crutch so we are just going to say he is pretty lame at the beach this year. Kind of sits there and asks the kids to bring him drinks. Just giving him a hard time because usually he would be out in the water throwing the kids in the air.
The most favorite thing for the kids are the waves. Hilton Head is not known for very big waves but they got really lucky on the very first day! Not even sure which kid is getting crushed in this picture.

Logan even loves being out there but it got too rough for him. I made Tom bring him back in so that Tom could keep hands on Larson who was just being tossed around.

Charlene and I got to sneak off to Wild Wings to have a late dinner. The beach house is only 5 minutes away from everything at Coligny. We saw one of the cooks that Tom and I have know for 20 years. At the end of dinner, the server said our dinner was taken care of. Happy Anniversary to Tom and I. Its still nice to have some perks here on the island.
Our first day was perfect here! So happy that everyone arrived safe and sound and could spend so much time together just relaxing and having so much fun.
We miss Carol not being here with us but Im sure she is so happy that we are all here. Hilton Head Island is the place that always brought us together.
Looking forward to a great week here!
