Snow Day

So the weatherman started predicting snow way too far in advance. Enough to keep the kids on high energy alert for at least 5 days prior.
Jackson wanted to do an experiment and see if it was going to be cold enough. He left water outside overnight and yes, it was below freezing. He made this glass to drink out of.

He actually used it for his morning cup.

The second year in a row, Austin gets a dusting of snow. Of course, the city shuts down and the kids are loving the weather man at this point.
So out to play they go.

I'm starting to think that when we go north we should buy an actual sled and bring it home. Crate lids dont work so well.

It was in the teens outside and the snow did not even cover all the grass but they were determined to sled, snowball fight, and build a snowman.

Jackson is always eating. Here he is eating snow and the carrot for the snowman.

3 happy kids

Larsons attempts at sledding. It just wouldnt work. Top right he did a face plant when the lid did not move at all after a running start. In his mind he was sledding that was enough to make him happy.

Maybe everything isnt bigger in Texas!

This was round 2 for Jackson
The kids in the neighborhood took off down the golf course to have fun.

#1 & #2

Our cold weather loving girl. She even admitted it was a little too cold.

Snowball that now resides in our freezer.

The best part of this whole day. When Logan felt how cold it was, he said no thank you. Thats my boy, chose to stay in the nice warm house. Thank you Logan Crawford for not making Mommy be out there with you.
The kids threw snowballs at the window and he would laugh so hard.
Just goes to prove you dont have to be out in the cold to enjoy your snow day.

In to warm up! Jackson remembers eating snow cream in Cincinnati. Nana would make it for him.
This was a great day. We were able to be out of our normal schedule and just have a fun family day!
